To build awareness for Netflix’s premiere film Outlaw King, a 14th-century action-drama starring Chris Pine, historic accuracies from the film were brought to life through an immersive world right in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. Tapping into the growing popularity of axe-throwing bars, a 3-day scenic takeover transported fans to the Highlands to prepare for battle, and defend Scotland in honor of their king, Robert the Bruce.

The Highlands comes to Brooklyn, in an epic axe-throwing premiere weekend.

With every detail from invites to on-site, noble Lords and Ladies were given the experience of chucking axes in the Scottish Highlands.

Social posts from influencers, press, Kick Axe’s owned channels, generated over 2.8MM organic impressions, drumming up excitement for the hatchet throwing event, and ultimately the Outlaw King film.

 

 

Over 100 VIP social influencers and press outlets attended, with writers on-site from Entertainment Weekly, AdWeek, Digiday, and Quartz.

 

Attendees created 964 branded GIFs of them hurling hatchets in our cinematic video booth experience. Almost every attendee on-site lined up to capture their video, posting to Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, reaching 98.5K people total via social.

 

Transformed 200 notable celebrities and influencers across the entertainment industry as Lords and Ladies, including: Kelly Ripa, Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, John Oliver.
